Dapaanz upholds the standards and reputation of the addiction workforce through a robust registration and renewal process.
We foster and maintain ethical and competent addiction practice in Aotearoa New Zealand and set the standards for practice.
We are kaitiaki of the following foundational documents and frameworks on behalf of the addiction workforce:

In addition to offering professional development, networking and training opportunities to support competent and effective practice, we review or refresh these practice guidelines and develop other policies/guidelines to support our membership as required.
In 2025, we refreshed our guiding documents and introduced additional guidelines to support online and digital communications and the use of AI. Updated versions of these documents will be shared as they become available over summer 2025/26.
